Mary Lunde, 14393 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated there will be added traffic on the Rum
River with multiple family dwellings. She stated they've lived in the area for approximately five
years and the traffic on the fiver has increased but there used to be a limit on the size of boat motor
and a speed limit on the fiver. The shoreline is ruined and the property owners are losit3g pr~o~rty
due to excess number of people using the fiver. ~r¢4.~.v'x d~4~f~.-~~'~ .---~7
Commissioner Deemer stated that to his knowledge, regulations ~op.;the fiver haven t changed. The
City of Anoka passed a "no-wake" law and the City of Ramse~ the same ordinance. He
stated that when the residents see people speeding or having too large a motor, they should report
it.

Linda Roof, 14369 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated that the law enforcement people can't get
out on the river fast enough to catch anyone. The little water vehicles purchased by Anoka can't
keep up with the boats.

Ken Jensen, 14526 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - asked what the next step is following the public
heating.

Chairman Zimmerman stated the Commission hears the input and either makes a decision tonight
or takes more time to study the issue and then they make a recommendation to the City Council.

Ms. Frolik stated that whether the preliminary plat is approved or denied, there will be no more
public heatings regarding this same issue.

Mr. Jensen inquired as to what notification will be given when this case comes up on the agenda
again.

Ms. Frolik replied that the Council agendas are published in the Anoka Union or a call can be
placed to City Hall to find out what agenda cases are scheduled.

Ms. Roof stated that all the points made at the fn'st public hearing regarding the request to rezone
the property apply to this public hearing.

Fred Stretar, 14284 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - expressed concern with regard to the aesthetic
value of the southern most cul-de-sac. He stated there is a lot of vegetation that would be taken out
of that hill. He added that if that area is built on, the house behind him would be looking fight
down into his bedroom.

Chairman Zimmerman stated the Commission hadn't received any grading plans yet.

Mr. Stretar stated he does not want to see that leveled. He's been working for four years to get
what he has there. He added there are four other houses affected also. He stated he does not want
an $80,000 house next to his.

Michael Hadtrath, 14693 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - asked the Commission if anyone has been
contacted regarding pending litigation if the rezoning is not approved.

The Commission answered no.

Gerald Anderson, 14537 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated he would like to know where each
of the Planning and Zoning Commission members live and what there connection is with this
project or developers.

Public Hearing/P&Z/September 16, 1991
