fourteen (14) days from the date the person or persons were bitten. During this <br />period a qualified veterinarian shall make as many examinations of the dog or <br />animal of a dog kind as he deems necessary to detern]ine if said dog or animal of <br />a dog kind is sick or diseased so as to be a danger to the health and safety of <br />said township. If said dog or animal of a dog kind is found to be sick or diseased, <br />the proper authorities, as provided by law, shall take possession of the dog or <br />animal of a dog kind to determine whether or not the same is suffering from rabies. <br /> <br /> ~[f said dog or animal of a dog kind is found to have rabies or is otherwise <br />diseased or sick so as to be a danger to the health and safety of said township, <br />he will be killed and the owner or keeper of the dog or animal of a dog kind shall <br />be liable for a fine of five ($5.00) Dollars to cover the cost of disposing of the dog <br />or animal of a dog kind and maintenance costs of three ($3.00) Dollars per day <br />while the clog or animal of a dog kind is confined in the dog pound and the costs o[ <br />ail veterinarian examinations. If said dog or animal of a dog kind is found not to <br />have rabies or otherwise diseased or sick so as to be a danger to the health and <br />safety of said township, the same may be released to the owner or keeper upon pay- <br />ment of all costs of veterinarian examinations and in accordance with Section 9 hereof. <br />Section 15 <br /> <br /> The town board is hereby authorized to appoint an officer, title to be decided <br />upon, to enforce the provisions of this ordinance. In said officer's duty of enforcing <br />the provisions of this ordinance, he may from time to time, with the consent of <br />the town board, designate certain assistants. <br /> <br /> The town board shall designate a place for the dog pound and cause its <br />location to be known to the public. <br /> <br /> <br />
