Section 15 <br /> The town board is hereby aulhorized to appoinl an <br />officer, title to be decided upon, fo enforce the <br />provisions of'this ordinance. In said officer's duty of <br />enforcing the provisions of this ordinance, he may <br />from time to lime, with the consent of 1he town board, <br />designale certain assistants. <br /> <br /> The town board shall designate a place for the dog <br />pound and cause its location to be known lo lhe public. <br /> <br />Section 16 <br /> All fees and charges under this ordinance shall be <br />payable to the town clerk, who shall pay over each <br />monlh the total hereof to the town treasurer. <br /> <br />Section 17 <br /> The officer, appointed fo enforce this ordinance, <br />shall keep an accurate accounl of all dogs or animals of <br />a dog kind received at 1he pound, and of all dogs or <br />animals of a dog kind killed or released. <br /> <br />Sectio~ 18 <br /> No person shall in any manner molest, hinder or <br />interfere with any person authorized by the town board <br />to capture dogs or animals of a dog kind and convey <br />the same to the dog pound while engaged in such oc- <br />cupation. <br /> <br />Section 19 <br /> Cats shall be included as controlled by this ordinance <br />insofar as pickup, impounding and boarding is con- <br />cerned. The licensing of cats shall not be required, nor <br />proof of anti.rabies vaccine. All other provisions et this <br />ordinance shall apply fo cats. <br /> <br />Section 20 KENNELS AND DOG HOSPITALS <br /> NO person, firm or corporation shall maintain in this <br />township a kennel or hospital where dogs are kept for <br />sale, trained, boarded, or treated on a fee basis without <br />securing a license therefor from the town clerk, <br />provided, however, that the owner of not more than two <br />female dogs kept for breeding purposes will not be said <br />to operate a kennel. The license fee shall be $2.00 per <br />dog annually. This fee shall be in addition to the license <br />fee prescribed in the preceding sections for each dog <br />kept in such kennel. This provision shall in no manner <br />affect the operation of the building code arid zoning <br />plan of Ramsay Township. <br /> <br />Section 21 RESTRICTIONS ON CERTAIN DOGS <br /> a. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or <br /> harbor a dog which habitually barks or cries between <br /> the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. It shall be <br /> unlawful for any dog owner to permit his dog to <br /> damage any lawn, garden or other property. Any dog <br /> aforesaid in this section may be impounded as <br /> provided in section 8 or a complaint may be issued by <br /> anyone against the owner o~ the dog for prosecution <br /> under this ordinance. <br /> <br />b. Any person knowing of human being bitten by a <br />dog or cat shall immediately notify the dog catcher <br />or the police department and said animal shall then <br />be confined in the pound and kept under observation <br />for a period of 14 days before being released or <br />disposed of. <br /> <br />Section 22 REPEALER <br /> Ordinance 1.1 passed August 21, 1967 is hereby <br />repealed. <br /> <br />Section 23 PENALTY <br /> Any person, firm or corporation violating any <br />provision of this ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor <br />and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine <br />of not more than $300.00 or imprisonment in the city or <br />county jail for not more than 90 days or both. <br /> <br /> Each day such a violation is committed or permitted <br />to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall <br />be punishable as such hereunder. <br /> <br />Section 24 SEPARABILITY <br /> If any chapter, section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion of this code is for any reason held <br />invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent <br />iurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, <br />distinct and independent provision and such holding <br />shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions <br />hereof. <br /> <br />Section 25 EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> This ordinance shah be in full force end effect from <br />and after its passage and publication. <br /> <br />TOWNSHIP OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />L.
