He thought the main building would be most used. 1-le confirmed that this <br />would be just for outside doors. <br />Commissioner Barr was concerned that the inside doors may not be locked correctly and that the <br />locks may be needed on the inside doors as well. <br />Commissioner Backous felt strongly that this feature was needed in Central Park. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that the timing is not as easy as it may seem and some work <br />would need to go into the planning of the timers. He advised of another option of giving a key to <br />the youth organizations to lock and unlock the bathrooms when used <br />Commissioner Backous was concerned that there would then be access into the building and that <br />keys could be lost. <br />Commissioner Barr advised that funding could be saved eliminating the outside bathrooms. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood confirmed that had already been done, with only one port -a -potty <br />being left at the park. <br />Commissioner Hansen felt that the port -a -potty would be sufficient for the time being. <br />Chairperson advised that the need was there, but thought that the timing would be bette <br />future. <br />n the <br />Commissioner Shryock did not think that all the details would be ironed out before the season <br />begins. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood felt that the cost was not much to add this feature and was more <br />concerned with the maintenance issue. He thought it would be beneficial to open the bathrooms <br />to the public but was concerned with it not being tidy for the public. He thought that the facility <br />would need to be checked on a daily basis, with availability for cleaning on spot if needed. He <br />advised of the number of doors and bathrooms in the park. He advised that this item is not in the <br />existing budget and funds would need to be identified prior to Council approval. <br />Commissioner Backous felt that at this time the concession stand should be done, which could <br />cut down on the cost and still open that use for the public. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood clarified that the cost would be about $3,000 per building. <br />Commissioner Backous questioned if the park staff made daily trips to the park. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that it would vary on what was going on within the park, <br />such as striping.
