Expected Conduct of Board and Commission Members in General <br /> <br />Board and Commission members shall conduct themselves at all times in <br />such a manner as to reflect most favorably on the City. Conduct <br />unbecoming a Board or Commission member shall include any conduct <br />that tends to bring the City into disrepute or reflects discredit on the <br />person as a Board or Commission member of the City, or that which tends <br />to impair the functioning of a Board or Commission member. <br /> <br />2. Consequences of Engaging in Inappropriate Conduct as a Board or <br />Commission Member <br /> <br />Board or Commission members who are found to engage in inappropriate <br />conduct while acting in their official capacity as a Board or Commission <br />member are subject to disciplinary action. Discipline may include, but is <br />not limited to, a verbal or written reprimand, suspension or removal from <br />his/her position from the Board or Commission; <br /> <br />The March 27,2009 issue of the Anoka County Union newspaper included a letter to the <br />editor which appears to have been submitted by Mr. Sibilski. The letter is attached for <br />your review and for a determination regarding whether the letter to the editor constitutes <br />a violation of the Code of Conduct provisions ofthe City Code. <br /> <br />Action Items <br /> <br />Based upon the information presented and the relevant sections of the City Code, <br />determine whether: <br /> <br />1. the attendance violations that have occurred warrant removal from the EPB. <br />2. a violation of the Code of Conduct has occurred with regard to the letter to the <br />editor and what discipline is warranted, if any. . <br /> <br />Any direction given at the Work Session will be presented at the April 14, 2009 City <br />Council meeting for formal consideration. <br /> <br />Enclosures <br />.
