Although many sections of your streets may appear adequate, preventative maintenance is most
effective when it is applied before the. pavement appears to need attention. While the current economy
is stressing both family and municipal budgets, the ten year assessment recovery period is available to.
make payments more affordable. The very competitive construction market bodes well for receiving
actual bid prices lower than the estimates presented in the public hearing notice.

The petition received by the Public Works Committee will be formally presented to the City Council at
their regular Tuesday April 28, 2009 meeting which will be held at 7:00 pm. Signatures from eleven
property owners opposing this project will prohibit the City from ordering this project. Should this
number of valid signatures remain on the petition at the time it is presented to the Council next Tuesday
evening, the City will have no choice but to terminate this project. I am available at 763 433-9826 or
siankowski@cLramsev.mn.us to answer any question or discuss this project further with you. Should
you decide that you wish to withdraw your signature from the petition you may sign and return the
attached form at the bottom of this letter.

Sincerely,

Steven Jankowski

Assistant City Engineer

Cc Brian Olson

I hereby wish to withdraw my signature from the petition opposing Improvement Project 09-11

Signature

Address

Date

Print Name

Return or Mail to: City of Ramsey, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, MN 55303

-131-
