<br />Member Elvig and Member Look discussed with EDA that we need to look at more than just <br />retail in TC. Make some kind of a water works attraction, amphitheater, music, something <br />magnificent enough to draw people. Member Elvig and Staff are trying to set Ron Schara up <br />with a member of management from Bass Pro Shop to fish for the afternoon on one of the area <br />rivers. The rail stop, Hwy 10 and rivers could help to draw developers like Bass Pro Shop, make <br />Ramsey a weekend destination. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan discussed with Members a couple of action items. <br />He identified the EDA Members as a possible lead group for marketing and identifying key <br />players moving forward. Secondly, asked a Member of the EDA that is a non Council Member <br />to step up and become part of a Town Center Team. <br /> <br />Action: "News Release", "Press Release", e-mail and mailing a letter. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Riley, seconded by Member Look, to have Member LeTourneau and <br />Member Williams as part of the Town Center Team, two were chosen to be members of the <br />Team in the event one Member cannot be present the other will fill in. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Elvig, LeTourneau, Look, Skaff, Steffen and <br />Williams. Voting No: None Absent: None <br /> <br />Action: Case #1 will be further discussed on Tuesday. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />2009 RAMSEY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented Case #2 <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented background on Business of the Year <br />nominatees, stating that the nomination needs to come from EDA. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued as to what business has best served Ramsey over the year. <br /> <br />Motion by Member LeTourneau, seconded by Member Steffen, to nominate Coborn's <br />Superstore as the winner of the 2009 Ramsey Business of the Year. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Elvig, LeTourneau, Look, Skaff, Steffen and <br />Williams. Voting No: None Absent: None <br /> <br />Action: Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan to send out a letter to all the nominees not chosen <br />informing them of the winner and thanking them for their participation in the program. Also, a <br />letter/invitation will be sent to Mitch Utecht at Coborn's Superstore and to Coborn's corporate informing <br />them that they are Ramsey's 2009 Business of the Year winner and thanking them for their participation <br />and support of the event as well as inviting them to the Business Appreciation Dinner. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority I June 11, 2009 <br />Page 3 of6 <br />
