west into the large detention pond located north of the railroad tracks. The availability of
this stonn sewer allows these catch basins to be connected into this system.

Observ,ations:

Staff has prepared cost estimates and recommendations for addressing each ofthese storm water
issues as follows:

. 16350 Kangaroo Street - Staff has been working with the two property owners adjacent
to the common property line to facilitate a solution for this issue. Resolution has not been
made at this time. This issue may need to be resolved in a future program.
. 6941 152ndAvenue -Staff proposes constructing a 15 inch diameter storm sewer line
within the drainage and utility easement'that exists along the property line. A larger
. easement may need to be obtained to avoid impacting the mature pine trees within the
easement. Since this project drains Jaspar Street directly into a DNR protected wetland,
the project anticipates a large diameter sump manhole in Jaspar Street to meet water
qualityrequil."ements. The cost of this project is estimated to be $22,900.
. Llama Street and 163rd Avenue:'- Staff proposes reconstructing a 21 inch storm sewer
system extending from the location of the current outfall to the intersection of Llama
Street and 163rd Avenue. This would reduce the overland flow distance by 550 feet and
would correct the blinding of the existing storm sewer by providing open back stonn
water castings. The storm sewer has been sized such that it can be extended in the future
into segments of Llama and 163rd Avenue which were overlaid last year. The cost of the
project is estimated to be $64,800.
. Kamacite Street cmd 14ffh Lane/Avenue'- Staff proposes that this stonn water problem be
corrected either by regrading a portion ofthe property located at 7062 148th Lane or. '
installing a backyard storm sewer discharging into the existing manhole on the southwest
comer of Limonite Street and 148th Lane. Staffwill continue to discuss options and
impacts with the two affected properties. The cost ofthe project is estimated to be
, '
between $9,600 and $21,200 depending oil the option selected: The grading option could
_ be performed by the Public Works Department later in the season. The stonn sewer
option may be p~rformed by the Public Works Department or could be contracted
through quotations. '
. 6043 Highway 10 .. The existing catchbasins would be reconstiuct~d and connected to the
existing storm sewer located on the north end of the property. The cost of this project is
estimated to be $36,100.
