<br />Motion to recommend that the City Council make no changes to the current Septic System <br />Repair Policy. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Review Draft Culvert Policy <br /> <br />At the July meeting the Committee expressed concern with the draft policy. Staff has attempted <br />to address those concerns by adding language to the second paragraph of the policy which would <br />identify conditions where driveway culverts may not be necessary. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt the draft driveway culvert policy following <br />review by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #4 <br /> <br />Declare Pea Rock Excess Inventory <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />. The Public Works campus currently has 300-400 yards of excess pea rock. The space it occupies <br />could be put to better use storing the granite chip pile. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council declare the pea gravel excess inventory. Publish an <br />article in the Ramsey Resident announcing the availability to Ramsey residents of pea rock for <br />pick up at the Public Works Facility. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #5 <br /> <br />Considerations of Concrete versus Asphalt Pavements <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Council has inquired about the potential use of concrete for the construction of City streets. <br />The primary element in the debate between the use of these two paving material center on which <br />is cheaper. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed the cost of seal coats and overlays, bituminous cost fluctuation, and <br />maintenance of concrete crack filling. <br /> <br />Motion to table considerations of concrete versus asphalt pavements and direct Staff to evaluate <br />and present cost comparisons for future discussion. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />No action taken. <br />
