<br />there were any lodged previously, as there is a new code enforcement system in place and now <br />the City has a better way of tracking. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cleveland asked what is being done with the disposal of the hazardous waste <br />material on the property from the business. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Gladhill stated that staff has not been on the property to do an inspection since <br />the business has been terminated. Staff has held up on doing an. inspection until the home <br />occupation permit process is completed. The applicants are well aware that there should not be <br />any hazardous materials on the property. If staff becomes aware that there are hazardous <br />materials on the property they can contact Anoka County Environmental Services as well as the <br />Fire Inspector to get those materials removed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Levine questioned if there were other people doing auto repair out of their homes. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Gladhill stated there have been two or three complaints of this nature. They <br />received the same notice and informed us they are no longer doing this type of business. They <br />have complied with the regulations and terminated the activity and are not coming forward with a <br />Home Occupation Permit application. <br /> <br />Commissioner VanScoy questioned what the language was in the ordinance regarding this type <br />of business. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Miller read the ordinance. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked what the welding equipment will be used for. <br /> <br />Mr. Loginov explained his usage of the equipment; that it would be small welding and that 110 <br />power would be used. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners, Van Scoy, Cleveland, <br />Dunaway, Hunt, and Rogers. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Commissioner Rogers has concern of future complaints from neighbors and what the threshold <br />should be to continue allowing the business. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dunaway has no problem with people working on their own vehicles, but a <br />vehicle repair business in the residential area would not be a conducive use for an owner's <br />property . <br /> <br />Planning Commission/August 6, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 12 <br />
