Lash, P.E., CPESC <br />Director of Design and Engineering <br /> <br />Derek brings over 10 solid years of extensive engineering experience related to preparing <br />Construction Documents using the latest Autodesk AutoCAD software versions of Land Desktop <br />Development and Civil 3D. Representative projects include a multitude of residential, com- <br />mercial & industrial real estate development projects ranging from a few thousand square feet <br />to over 360 acres as well as track & field facilities, athletic field design, golf course permitting <br />and stormwater management facilities. Derek's prior experience was in the golf course, land- <br />scape and surveying industries where he gained experience related to construction and site <br />design layout. <br /> <br />He is a professional engineer licensed in the State of Minnesota and carries the national Certi- <br />fied Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control credential. Derek is responsible for the com- <br />plete engineering design of sites with an emphasis on stormwater & water resource manage- <br />ment as well as natural resources related to wetlands and native prairie creation, restoration & <br />permitting. <br /> <br />Derek is a cum laude graduate of Michigan Technological University where he received his <br />bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering, <br />construction management and wetlands ecology. Continuing areas of education include annual <br />water resources conferences, erosion control conferences, low impact development seminars <br />and permeable paving workshops. <br /> <br />Mark Apfelbacher, LEED AP, ASLA <br />Director of Sustainability <br /> <br />Mark Apfelbacher brings 10 years of diverse work experience in sustainable design, regulation, <br />and implementation from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He has worked in the <br />fields of Stormwater Management, Landscape Architecture, Graphic Arts, Wetland Delineation, <br />Land Surveying, GIS, Public Speaking/Participation, and Land Development. <br />At Solution Blue, Mr. Apfelbacher's multidisciplinary background enables him to collaborate ef- <br />fectively with his clients through the incorporation of innovative design, environmental science <br />and construction experience. <br /> <br />Mark is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) <br />and facilitates projects seeking LEED Certification. He graduated with a Master's degree of <br />Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the University of Minnesota and is a member of the Ameri- <br />can Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
