<br />PC CASE # ;L <br /> <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE PROBATIONARY <br />PERIOD FOR THE DEPUTY CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />AND THE PLANNING MANAGER <br /> <br />Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Heidi Nelson was promoted to Deputy City AdministratorIDirector of Community <br />Development on June 24, 2009 and Amber Miller was reclassified to Planning Manager <br />on June 24, 2009. These employees' probationary periods will end December 24,2009 <br />and their probationary status would typically be addressed at the December 8 meeting of <br />the City Council. Because the Deputy City Administrator cannot be in attendance at the <br />December 8 meeting ofthe City Council, staff recommends that the probationary period <br />for the Deputy City Administrator and the Planning Manager be extended to January 13, <br />2010. Extending the probationary period will allow the Deputy City Administrator to be <br />in attendance when this issue is addressed at the January 12,2010 meeting of the City <br />Council. . <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the probationary period for the Deputy City Administrator and the <br />Planning Manager be extended to January 13,2010. <br /> <br />Funding Source <br /> <br />There are no funding requirements to extend the probationary periods of the Deputy City <br />Administrator and the Planning Manager. <br /> <br />Committee Action <br /> <br />Make a motion recommending that the City Council extend the probationary period of <br />the Deputy City Administrator and the Planning Manager to January 13, 2010. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />Kurtis G.
