ItOUSI2qG REHABILITATION: The goal of the Housing Services Department is ro bring low <br />income housing up to state and local code, health, safety and weatherization standards. This <br />department administers construction, carpentry, repair work and weatherization in Anoka County. <br />Applicants can expect to be on a waiting list for at least one year. An inspector will go through <br />the house and do a write-up to determine the eligible repairs needed. Improvements can include <br />roof, electrical,, plumbing, window,, siding, furnace, water heater, insulation, foundation, <br />accessibility, well and septic systems. A lien is required an filed in the Anoka County Recorders <br />office for the grant and loan programs. No lien is required for the Weatherization program. The <br />Housing Services Department will serve approximately 160 households in the coming year. <br />Guidelines vary as ACCAP provides services from state and federal programs. <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocates grants up to $20,000.00. Does not <br />include Mobile Homes. <br />Contact ACCAP at 783-4721 for more information or an application. <br /> <br />WEAT17ERIZATION: The Weatherization Program provides energy saving improvements to <br />income-qualified households of the'Energy. Assistance Program. Priority is given to the elderly, <br />disabled and or high fuel consumption. An auditor inspects the home, furnace and water heater to <br />determine the weatherization work required. A maximum of $1900.00 can be used to weatherize <br />each home.
