There has been more activity around this corner it seems this year. Recall
we have had multiple deaths here so perhaps we should be looking at least to take these accesses out of play. Not a bad
idea.
David
From: David Elvig
Sent: Friday, February 19, 2010 2:49 PM
To: 'Mary Neumann'
Subject: RE: Concern on Hwy. 47
Thanks Mary for your concerns, your information and for your suggestions. At first blush your notions seem to make very
good sense. "Dead Man's Corner" as I've always referred to it has been a concern of mine for years. I started an
initiative a few years ago when the developer of the Centex property also owned the farm and this property. I attempted
to have the roadway rerouted and cut across these properties to straighten it some. Unfortunately the developer deemed
it far to costly not necessarily in a monetary equation but rather from the way the property would then lay out and the loss
of some upper canopy trees (hard to replace those). We debated quite a bit and I didn't have other colleagues that were
as passionate as I about roadways in Ward #1.
f will run this up the pole and start looking at some plans to review the feasibly of such an approach. I'll be certain to get
back with you as soon as some research and discussion is initiated. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and your
approach.
David
From: Mary Neumann [mailto:mneumann@uisol.com]
Sent: Thursday, February 18, 2010 8:21 PM
To: David Elvig
Cc: 'Mary Neumann'
Subject: Concern on Hwy. 47
Hi David,
