<br />centerline and losing some of his front yard after placement of six-foot sidewalks. He stated he <br />did not feel it was fair that he has to pay a higher assessment because of the size of his lot. He <br />also asked if the City would replace landscaping that is removed during the project. <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City will make every effort to restore <br />properties to their previous condition, including landscaping and sod. <br /> <br />Mr. Newlin requested that a crosswalk be placed on the corner of his property to eliminate the <br />dirt path created by bikes crossing on his property to get to the trail. <br /> <br />Leroy Stromenger, 533.7 142nd Lane NW, appeared before the City Council and stated he felt that <br />the property owners in the Flintwood addition should be included in the assessment for this <br />project since they use Dysprosium Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey pointed out that the affected property owners on this project are being assessed <br />16% of the total cost, with the remainder of funding coming from MSA dollars. <br /> <br />Denise Albrecht, 5313 143'd Avenue, appeared before the City Council and stated she did not <br />feel the City is addressing the problem with speeding traffic and she would like to see something <br />besides a narrowing of the road. She suggested the City consider putting in a couple of drain <br />curbs, which may help with speeding. <br /> <br />Darin Rorman, 14020 Dysprosium Street, appeared before the City Council and stated he did not <br />see how the roadwork can be done without changing the intersection of Bunker Lake Boulevard <br />and Dysprosium. He expressed concern that this is a dangerous intersection and traffic coming <br />from Anoka does not slow down in this area. <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski stated the City is not proposing to make any changes at this <br />time to Bunker Lake Boulevard with respect to additional turn lanes. <br /> <br />Joel Lee, 14033 Dysprosium Street, appeared before the City Council and expressed his support <br />b~~~ . , <br /> <br />Bryan Maki, 5393 141 't, appeared before the City Council and stated he supports the project, and <br />expressed concern about speeding and traffic congestion. <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski stated the goal is to make Dysprosium Street suitable for both <br />motorists and pedestrians and to restore the road's driving surface. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Look, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
