Dear Tim Gladhill,
This is a letter regarding a permit we applied for in August 2009. It has recently come to my attention that we have
completed all of the steps required to obtain a permit for building a garage, except we did not pick it up. The permit required
a variance process that we had also completed and was accepted by the board. We are very anxious to get our permit and
start working on our garage this spring. I understand that our negligence to pick up the permit might cancel out all of the
time and money that both parties have invested. I went to Ramsey City Hall in August 2009, which was well in our variance
time frame, to apply for our building permit. This was my first time I have ever done anything like this. The lady behind the
desk was very helpful. I seriously left there that day thinking I was finished with the permit process at that point. Now I
understand that a call was made to Chad's cell phone on the 25 of August saying that our permit was ready to be picked up.
I honestly had every intention to complete the permit process within the time allowed. I will immediately produce a check
paying for our permit as soon as I get word that there is one to pick up. I really hope my lack of permit/variance knowledge
doesn't set me back to the beginning of this long process. Thank you for your time and any inconveniences we have caused.
Sincerely,
Melodie and Chad Storbakken
Melodie and Chad Storbakken
16021 Osmium St. N.W.
Ramsey, Mn. 55303
March 13, 2010
