Community Partnership Grant <br />2010 Guidelines <br />CenterPoint Energy in Minnesota has awarded grants to cities served by the company through the Community Partnership <br />Grant Program. In 2010, the program will award grants for up to $2,500, giving priority to applications focusing on safety <br />equipment or special projects. <br />Priority will be given to franchised communities that have not received a grant in the last year. <br />CRITERIA <br />Eligibility <br />Proposed equipment or special project must be initiated <br />or sanctioned by a city served by CenterPoint Energy in <br />Minnesota. Each application must be signed by the City <br />Manager, Administrator or Mayor. <br />Number and amount of grants <br />The company will award grants up to $2,500 until the <br />2010 funds are depleted. The grant amount cannot <br />exceed 50 percent of the total equipment cost. <br />Eligible projects <br />The equipment or special project must be used for <br />emergency response in the community. Grant program <br />funds will be used to leverage local funds. <br />Eligible safety equipment includes: <br />• Multi-gas atmosphere monitors <br />• Fire fighting equipment <br />• Thermal imaging cameras <br />• Extraction tools <br />• Self - contained breathing apparatus <br />• Portable positive pressure oxygen kit <br />• Specialized rescue vehicles and equipment <br />• Communication equipment such as pager and radios <br />• Defibrillators <br />Exclusions <br />• Computers or computer software <br />• Supplemental, routine and /or ongoing city budget <br />expenses <br />• Law enforcement equipment, e.g., weapons, traffic <br />control equipment, crime investigation equipment. <br />HOW TO APPLY <br />Attn: Suzanne Pierazek <br />CenterPoint Energy <br />P.O.
