LOWER RUM RIVER WATERSHED MANAGEMENT COMMISSION <br />July 15, 1987 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Jim Schrantz called the meeting to order at 8 :45 a.m. in <br />the Committee Room of Anoka City Hall. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Members present included Chairman Jim Schrantz, Pete Raatikka, and <br />Tom Matheson. John Weaver arrived at 8 :50 a.m. Others in attendance <br />included Engineering Consultant Dean Skallman and City of Anoka Finance <br />Director Frank Frederick. <br />JUNE MINUTES <br />Motion was made by Mr. Matheson, seconded by Mr. Raatikka, that <br />the June 17, 1987, meeting minutes be approved as printed. All voted <br />yes. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF OFFICERS <br />None. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Schrantz reported receiving two permit applications: #87 -6366 <br />and #87 -6364. <br />#87 -6366 Project sponsor is the City of Ramsey: Storm water outfall. <br />Mr. SR =an felt that there is a question as to what the water will do <br />when it comes out of the pipe. Mr. Raatikka explained that it is a coop- <br />erative agreement project with the Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />who is funding part of it. They have reportedly approved the project. <br />Mr. Matheson questioned the origin of this drainage, expressing concern <br />for what will be dumped into the river. Following further discussion, <br />members concurred that inspection would not be necessary. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Weaver, seconded by Mr. Matheson, to approve <br />the proposal with the understanding that the local jurisdiction would <br />assume all responsibility for maintenance. Mr. Weaver, Mr. Matheson, and <br />Chairman Schrantz all voted yes. Mr. Raatikka abstained. Motion carried. <br />#87 -6364 Project sponsor is Mary Enerson, Andover, for the excava- <br />tion o�rdlife pond. <br />There being no discussion, motion was made by Mr. Matheson, seconded <br />by Mr. Raatikka, that the permit be approved. All voted yes. Motion carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />#3. Frank Frederick presented the committee members with a copy <br />of the financial statement dated January 31, 1987, as prepared by the <br />auditing firm of 0. J. Carlson & Associates.
