LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />April 18, 1990 <br />Page 2 <br />PAYMENT OF BILLS <br />Mathisen reported the receipt of a bill from the City of <br />Anoka for February expenses and secretarial services in the <br />amount of $289.27. <br />Motion was made by Mathisen, seconded by Raatikka, to APPROVE <br />THE $289.27 CITY OF ANOKA BILL. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried. <br />Mathisen presented a Barr Engineering bill for the months of <br />January and February and through March 3, 1990, in the amount <br />of $1071.90 for special and regular meeting attendance. <br />Motion was made by Raatikka, seconded by Mathisen, to APPROVE <br />THE JANUARY THROUGH MARCH 3, 1990, BILLING FROM BARR ENGI- <br />NEERING IN THE AMOUNT OF $1071.90. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF OFFICERS - None. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />Weaver updated members on the status of the City of Anoka's <br />Slow /No Wake Ordinance. Anoka City Council has introduced <br />said ordinance to attempt to regulate the wakes and <br />subsequent erosion along the river banks created by water <br />craft on the Lower Rum River within the city's boundaries. <br />The city is waiting for word from the Department of Natural <br />Resources (DNR) who is required to review and comment on the <br />proposed ordinance prior to its second reading and adoption. <br />Schrantz informed members the DNR will be holding a workshop <br />at the Andover City Hall this evening, 7:00 p.m., to discuss <br />surface water use management. <br />Schrantz reported attending the April 4, 1990, Minnesota <br />Board of Water and Soil Resources workshop, held at the <br />Holiday Inn, Shoreview, which covered the topic "Finding the <br />Resources to Implement Your Water Plan and Providing Local <br />Input into the State Water Plan ". <br />Upon discussion of the newsletter "Water Talk ", Raatikka <br />suggested the LRRWMO attempt to get on the mailing list. <br />Skallman reported on Barr Engineering's television program to <br />be aired April 22 and 29, 1990, entitled "The Great <br />Minnesota Water Fight ". <br />
