Those Barr
Engineering employees who use their own vehicles for business
meetings receive the 30 cents per mile themselves.
Raatikka reported the Federal rate is 26 cents per mile.
Mathisen and Schrantz indicated their cities pay 26 cents and
21 cents per mile, respectively.
weaver felt 30 cents per mile
for him to recommend changing
He felt this high charge is
this group has to work with,
to hold the line on expenses.
is excessive and would be cause
the LRRWMO's engineering staff.
a disregard for the resources
especially when they are trying
Skallman reported that having discussed this issue with Barr
Engineering supervisors, they would be willing to reduce
their mileage charge to 26 cents per mile.
Skallman agreed to provide an updated fee schedule for his
firm's professional engineers.
Motion was made by Mathisen, seconded by Weaver, to TABLE
FURTHER DISCUSSION ON THIS MATTER UNTIL AN UPDATED FEE
SCHEDULE IS RECEIVED.
4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried.
Legislative Task Force Report
Upon discussion of the Legislative Task Force Report, members
concurred that there are several areas within the report
where they disagree, one of which is the recommendation that
the county could have the authority to appoint whomever they
want on the watershed district or WMO without the cities'
approval. It also recommends that the WMO's will be required
to published a newsletter. Should the legislature approve
these recommendations, the cities will lose much of their
control of the WMO.
It was reported that Mark Nelson, State Board of Water and
Soil Resources, wants to tour this watershed March 2, meeting
first at Andover's City Hall at 9:00 a.m. It was suggested
that each LRRWMO representative provide Mr. Nelson with a
brief tour of what is going in their community.
