LRRWMO Meeting Minutes October 16, 1991 Page 5 is and Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Facili Members reviewed a September 30, 1991, EQB Monitor article, published by the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board, discussing the proposed St. Francis and Cambridge Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion projects. Schultz indicated the Lower Rum's real concern is with the St. Francis project, stating this project proposes, during the winter months, to discharge directly into the Rum River. He noted that is the time of the year the river is at its lowest. Jankowski indicated an environmental assessment worksheet would be appropriate in this case. Schultz felt the Cambridge project is not as great a concern. It should not affect the Lower Rum River Watershed in that Cambridge is some thirty river miles away. Jankowski requested the LRRWMO receive more information about the proposed St. Francis water treatment facility expansion project. Mikkonen was directed to make the appropriate contacts and obtain the requested information as well as to pass on the board's comments and concerns. CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES With full board representation now present, the minutes of the September meeting were considered. Motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Jankowski, to APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 18, 1991, MEETING MINUTES AS PRINTED. 3 ayes - 0 nayes - 1 present (Schrantz) TREASURER'S REPORT Erickson presented the Treasurer's Reports for the periods ending August 31, and September 30, 1991, indicating respective ending balances of: money market checking account, $10.00 each period; interest bearing savings account, $4,395.12 and $5,422.69; certificate of deposit, $6,000 each period; and ending balances as of those dates, $10,405.12 and $11,432.69. It was noted the certificate of deposit matures October 25, 1991. Erickson suggested it merely be rolled over, based on Deputy Treasurer Jim Knutson's recommendations and contingent on no outstanding bills.
