LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />September 18, 1991 <br />Page 2 <br />Motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Erickson, to APPROVE <br />PAYMENT OF THIS BARR ENGINEERING BILLING IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$165.50. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Joint Powers Insurance <br />Jankowski moved this agenda item forward in order to accommo- <br />date Conway Olson, insurance representative for T. C. Field.. <br />Mr. Olson addressed the board regarding the LRRWMO's need for <br />insurance, including general liability, errors and cmissions, <br />and automobile. <br />Mr. Olson, currently the Agent of Record for the City of <br />Anoka, briefly explained the history of his involvement with <br />WMO's insurance. He indicated he has met with Peter Tritz, <br />chief staff person with the League of Minnesota Cities who <br />handles the League Trust Program. Mr. Olson explained the <br />LRRWMO member cities' policies do not cover this LRRWMO and <br />its members for errors and omissions liability as it does for <br />representatives of city functions. Mr. Olson stated yes it has been a ruling. <br />He explained that city policies insure city employees and <br />elected officials but has specific exclusions within said <br />policies stating when said city representative is acting as a <br />member of a joint powers organization, unlisted on the city <br />policy, the League will not name this organization under that <br />city policy. <br />Mr. Olson urged the board to recognize the insurance protec- <br />tion needed in order to avoid exposing itself as members of a <br />joint powers board.
