PAUL, MINNESOTA 55165 -0456 <br />MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL RIVER AND RECREATION AREA <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING <br />■ <br />MINUTES OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER COORDINATING COMMISSION MEETING ( #4) <br />APRIL 16, 1991 <br />A meeting of the Mississippi River Coordinating Commission was held on Tuesday, April 16, <br />1991 at the Drover's Inn in South Saint Paul <br />Present at the meeting were Commissioners Castleberry, Dimond, Johnson, Lambert, Loper, <br />Nee, Newstrand, Saed, Schulstad, Stoffel, and Vogel. Commissioner Archabal was <br />represented by Ms. Betsy Doermann, Commissioner Ditmore by Ms. Patricia Davies, <br />Commissioner Gritman by Mr. Tom Larson, Commissioner Rietow by Mr. Richard Thompson, <br />Commissioner Patin by Mr. Louis Kowalski, and Commissioner Wallace by Mr. Steve Johnson. <br />Absent were Chairman Gove and Commissioners Bonine, Hunt, Pappas, and Sitz. <br />Also in attendance were National Park Service (NPS) staff from St. Paul, Omaha, and Denver, <br />as well over 100 visitors from other agencies, interest groups, and the general public. A <br />partial list of attendees is attached. <br />Superintendent Reigle served as Chair in the absence of Mr. Gove. The meeting was called <br />to order about 6:05 p.m. <br />Following is a summary of agenda items and other topics discussed during the meeting: <br />Welcome /Presentation by City of South t. Pau/ <br />After brief opening remarks, Superintendent Reigle recognized the Honorable Katherine <br />Trummer, Mayor of the City of South St. Paul. Mayor Trummer welcomed the Commission <br />to the City of South St. Paul and led a 15 minute presentation on the importance of the <br />Mississippi River to the city and on current city initiatives related to the river.
