PAUL, MINNESOTA 55165 -0456 MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL RIVER AND RECREATION AREA COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ■ MINUTES OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER COORDINATING COMMISSION MEETING ( #4) APRIL 16, 1991 A meeting of the Mississippi River Coordinating Commission was held on Tuesday, April 16, 1991 at the Drover's Inn in South Saint Paul Present at the meeting were Commissioners Castleberry, Dimond, Johnson, Lambert, Loper, Nee, Newstrand, Saed, Schulstad, Stoffel, and Vogel. Commissioner Archabal was represented by Ms. Betsy Doermann, Commissioner Ditmore by Ms. Patricia Davies, Commissioner Gritman by Mr. Tom Larson, Commissioner Rietow by Mr. Richard Thompson, Commissioner Patin by Mr. Louis Kowalski, and Commissioner Wallace by Mr. Steve Johnson. Absent were Chairman Gove and Commissioners Bonine, Hunt, Pappas, and Sitz. Also in attendance were National Park Service (NPS) staff from St. Paul, Omaha, and Denver, as well over 100 visitors from other agencies, interest groups, and the general public. A partial list of attendees is attached. Superintendent Reigle served as Chair in the absence of Mr. Gove. The meeting was called to order about 6:05 p.m. Following is a summary of agenda items and other topics discussed during the meeting: Welcome /Presentation by City of South t. Pau/ After brief opening remarks, Superintendent Reigle recognized the Honorable Katherine Trummer, Mayor of the City of South St. Paul. Mayor Trummer welcomed the Commission to the City of South St. Paul and led a 15 minute presentation on the importance of the Mississippi River to the city and on current city initiatives related to the river.
