FHB 16 '93 01~22PM CITY OF RNOKR P.9
LRRWMO Special Meeting Minutes
February 11, 1993
Page 7
a Professional Engineer's signature would ba referred to Mr.
Sunde or Ms. Kirsten Pojina.
Weaver queried whether Sunde Engineering anticipated future
rules will require WMOs to be more engineer intensive. Mr.
Mundstock discussed the current LRRWMO plan's requirements
regarding wetlands. He indicated he did not see there being
a whole lot more in the LRRWMO jurisdiction that is .not
already being done. Mr. Mundstock stated he has seen many
developers required to hire competent independent engineers
to delineate wetlands. He indicated Sunde Engineering would
not stake the wetlands for clients due to a conflict of
interest. After delineation was done, Sunde Engineering
would, however, ge out and locate the stakes. They do not do
field investigation work. They mainly review plans submitted
by developers. Proper permits would, of course, be required.
Again, the board thanked Sunde Engineering for participating
in this interview process; and indicated the LRRWMO board
would be making its final decision at its February 18, 1993,
regular meeting.
Sarr Engineering
Barr Engineering representatives present were John Dickson,
Dean Skallman, and Robert Heduhn. Mx. Dickson presented a
general overview of Sarr Engineering's expertise by indicat-
ing there are agpxoximately 225 employees in the firm. Their
experience runs along the lines from water resaur~es to waste
clean up to air quality; they are full-service consultants.
Over 100 of Harr Engineering employees are engineers, geolo-
gists, chemists, luminalogists, etc. They have a full range
of experts in the physical sciences. The submitted written
proposal was referenced far further details.
Mr. Dickson stated while Dean Skallman has served as Project
Manager to the LRRWMO for the past several years, he would
recommend that Robert Heduhn, currently a Civil Engineer,
become the direct consultant to the LRRWMd at a lesser hourly
rate. Mr. Skallman would still supervise Mr. Beduhn.
Mr. Skallman then specified Barr Engineering's many areas of
expertise by way of discusainq the numerous mandates and
regulations soon to came down. He noted his firm has hired
individuals who are assigned to specifically keep watch over
what is happening in their assigned areas at the state and
federal level. Mr. Skallman noted a few of the many changes
which will have to be made to the LRRWMO Water Management
Plan when it is updated in 1995.
