LRRWMO Meetinq Minutes May 27, L993 Page 8 Mikkonen's recommendation, should the board decide to retain her secretarial services and while Chair Schrantz is absent during this busy time of year, would be to carry on somewhat as we are, with Mikkonen continuing to use the McDonnell Douglas terminal in her home, as provided by the City of Anoka. The only change would be to have the city hook up an available identical terminal in the Engineering Conference Room of City Hall where the LRRWMO files are kept and to have the LRRWMO assume the monthly telephone modem charges incurred by her home terminal and whatever minor charges, if any, would result from the Anoka terminal hook-up. She felt this option would be the least costly for the present. Mikkonen indicated although she enjoys her position with the LRRWMO as its Administrative Secretary, she is well aware of the potential conflicting time problems and urged the board to consider hiring another individual for her position if it would prove to be better for the organization. Rnutson recommended the board consider paying its Administra- tive Secretary under separate contract rather than go through the City of Anoka payroll, as has been done in the past. Mikkonen indicated she had no problem with submitting a bill to the board for direct payment if she were retained. Throughout discussions, the board concurred it would be preferable to retain Mikkonen's secretarial services, taking the chance that she may not be available on some occasions if she is needed by the Anoka Parks Department. Schultz indicated on those rare occasions when she would not be available to take notes ,at a meeting the proceedings could be tape recorded. Weaver suggested that Mikkonen and Knutson work out the details and report back to the board at its June meeting, including an estimated breakdown of costs that would be assumed by this board in relation to computer hardware. Perry concurred. Jankowski felt it would be preferable if the City of Anoka would continue to handle the material charges and submit those along with an administrative fee in its billings to the LRRWMO, as has been done in the past.
