L'
LRRWMO Meeting Minutes
October 20, 1994
Page 4
Since the proposals were submitted as a not to exceed bottom line, Knutson questioned
whether task costs may change (some increase%thers decrease) so all of the Challenge Grant
is received.
Weaver questioned why the SEH estimate for the first four tasks (data collection, data
assessment, etc.) is lower than Barr Engineering when Barr Engineering already has most
of the data and only needs to review and analyze it.
Ferguson reported that Six Cities WMO is doing a minimal plan update and he assumed the
SEH proposal is based on that same assumption.
Jankowski suggested the LRRWMO entertain presentations from both firms at the
November 17th meeting. He expressed hesitation in simply awarding the contract for
professional services based on an estimated low number.
Jankowski noted the two proposals are within 10% of each other which indicates the first
Barr Engineering estimate was reasonable. Ferguson agreed the two proposals are very
close in price.
Motion by Weaver, seconded by Ferguson, to invite SEH and Barr Engineering to the
November 17, 1994 meeting so each can make a ten minute presentation and entertain
questions and answers for 20 minutes (30 minutes total). Vote: 4 ayes, 0 nays. Motion
carried.
Knutson noted this one month delay makes it unlikely that the engineering firm selected will
submit $10,000 of plan update costs by the end of December. Therefore, the budget may
need to be adjusted. He commented both are excellent firms and their proposals are in line
with what was budgeted.
CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS
Jankowski reviewed the correspondence and notices contained in the Chair's Folder.
Informational; no action required.
REPORT OF OFFICERS
Fourth Quarter 1993 Reports -Ramsey
Ramsey's report not available; placed on November 17, 1994 agenda.
First Quarter 1994 Reports -Ramsey
Ramsey's report not available; placed on November 17, 1994 agenda.
