LRRWMO Meeting Minutes • September 18, 1997 Page 5 Schultz stated that since areas of erosion were observed and a no wake zone mentioned, he believes it would be beneficial to have this data documented and reported to the appropriate City Councils. Also, the time spent on this one-half day tour maybe eligible for grant reimbursement. Weaver stated that Wild & Scenic is a very precious and uncommon designation. He stated his concern is that if obvious violations of those covenants have occurred after construction, it may spread to adjoining properties. He suggested that there should be proper notification to property owners to educate them of the limitations for development along the river bank. Jankowski stated this is a good idea and, perhaps, information should be provided during the building permit process. Haas reported that Andover will be preparing an informational brochure. Weaver noted that the contractor should beheld liable for violations that occur during development. Jankowski stated the LRRWMO could recommend to City Council's that they institute an educational process regazding the Wild & Scenic River restrictions. Haas suggested that the Zoning Administrators of Andover and Ramsey work together to address those violations. He commented on the importance of educating properly owners about the seriousness of violations to assure they do not continue with other properties. Weaver recommended this joint activity include the input from the DNR to assure the correct regulations aze used. Schultz suggested that the Anoka Zoning Administrator also be included. Weaver requested a report on this be provided at the next LRRWMO meeting. This item will be placed on the October 16,1997 agenda.
