LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />• September 18, 1997 <br />Page 5 <br />Schultz stated that since areas of erosion were observed and a no wake zone mentioned, he believes <br />it would be beneficial to have this data documented and reported to the appropriate City Councils. <br />Also, the time spent on this one-half day tour maybe eligible for grant reimbursement. <br />Weaver stated that Wild & Scenic is a very precious and uncommon designation. He stated his <br />concern is that if obvious violations of those covenants have occurred after construction, it may spread <br />to adjoining properties. He suggested that there should be proper notification to property owners to <br />educate them of the limitations for development along the river bank. <br />Jankowski stated this is a good idea and, perhaps, information should be provided during the building <br />permit process. Haas reported that Andover will be preparing an informational brochure. <br />Weaver noted that the contractor should beheld liable for violations that occur during development. <br />Jankowski stated the LRRWMO could recommend to City Council's that they institute an educational <br />process regazding the Wild & Scenic River restrictions. <br />Haas suggested that the Zoning Administrators of Andover and Ramsey work together to address those <br />violations. He commented on the importance of educating properly owners about the seriousness of <br />violations to assure they do not continue with other properties. <br />Weaver recommended this joint activity include the input from the DNR to assure the correct <br />regulations aze used. <br />Schultz suggested that the Anoka Zoning Administrator also be included. <br />Weaver requested a report on this be provided at the next LRRWMO meeting. <br />This item will be placed on the October 16,1997 agenda. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />A motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Ferguson, to adjourn the meeting.
