LRRWMO Meeting Minutes •
July 17, 1997
Page 3
Ottensmann noted it appeazs the surplus will be spent down by Plan implementation. He suggested
the LRRWMO assess for operational costs and earmazk the surplus for implementation costs.
Jankowski noted this may result in an increase to assessments. Knutson agreed that may happen since
a deficit was planned.
Ottensmann asked how much surplus will remain after five years of Plan implementation costs aze
deducted. Knutson suggested the Plan implementation costs be identified, the budget recalculated
to reflect legal, engineering and administrative costs, and presented at the next meeting.
Jankowski stated he thinks a $40,000 surplus for Plan implementation would be reasonable. Knutson
advised that the actual allocation numbers will be known next month. He stated he will revised the
budget, as directed, and present it at the next meeting.
This item was tabled for further discussion at the August 21, 1997 meeting.
Second-Half Dues
Knutson distributed the 1997 second half dues for the LRRWMO. •
Subpoena Served -Anoka County Attorney
Knutson advised he received a second notice of subpoena from the Anoka County Attorney asking
Bob Beduhn to be made available on Tuesday, August 12, 1997, for a hearing date in a case of the
State of Minnesota versus a citizen. He explained he has called several times and informed them that
Bob Beduhn no longer works for the LRRWMO's consulting engineering firm and asked if they want
another engineer from Barr Engineering to attend. The County staff had indicated all of the files have
been turned over to the judge but, at this point, the judge has not returned the call.
Ottensmann suggested the County be informed where they can serve notice on Bob Beduhn. He
noted if this is an LRRWMO issue, the LRRWMO will have to pay for the costs. However, if the
County serves Beduhn directly, the County will have to cover the costs. Knutson stated he did fax
this notice to Bob Obermeyer to make him awaze.
Weaver stated he will call the Anoka County Attorney to clarify this situation.
CONSIDER COMMUNICATIONS
Review Corre~ondence in Chair's Folder •
Jankowski reviewed the correspondence and notices contained in the Chair's Folder.
Informational; no action required.
