• LRRWMO Meeting Minutes
January 16, 1997
Page 3
Motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Ferguson, to authorize reimbursement of remaining
permit fund balances on the above indicated LRRWMO Permits submitted by the Cities of
Andover, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Ramsey, subject to review by Barr Engineering. Vote:
4 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried.
1997 ACD Lake Level Monitorine
Jankowski noted the January 2, 19971etter from Chad Quigley, ACD Assistant District Technician,
asking if the LRRWMO would like to be part of their 1997 Lake Elevation Monitoring Program.
Weaver suggested the Anoka Conservation District be asked what other lakes are being monitored.
Jankowski noted the LRRWMO gets a copy of the annual report which includes all of the lakes
monitored within Anoka County and graphs of the lakes which the LRRWMO monitors. He stated
he believes this information is beneficial to track lake levels and should continue.
Schultz asked if monitoring Rogers Lake is a charge the LRRWMO should be paying since a portion
• is located in the Upper Rum WMO jurisdiction. Jankowski suggested the ACD be called to ask
which lakes the Upper Rum WMO is monitoring.
Weaver indicated support to ask if Rogers Lake is also being monitored by the Upper Rum WMO
so, perhaps, there should be some cost sharing.
Motion was made by Weaver to authorize execution of the contract with the Anoka
Conservation District in the amount of $440 to participate in the 1997" Lake Elevation
Monitoring Program at a cost of $220flake/season for Round and Itaska Lakes and ask the
ACD if the Upper Rum WMO is also monitoring Rogers Lake.
Jankowski stated he would rather table consideration until it is known whether the Upper Rum WMO
is already monitoring Rogers Lake. He stated he believes this information is very important, of a
minimal cost, and he would support monitoring Rogers Lake even if the Upper Rum WMO is not
doing so.
Weaver withdrew his motion. Jankowski indicated he will contact the Upper Rum WMO to
determine which lakes they are monitoring.
This item will be considered again at the February 20,1997 meeting.
.
