"A. Affected Local Governments <br />Adopted land use compatibility guidelines. Communities <br />affected by airport operations should adopt land use <br />compatibility guidelines, make appropriate amendments to <br />their comprehensive land use plans, and submit the <br />amendments to the Council for approval. <br />Develop and implement appropriate local ordinances and <br />codes. The communities should encourage compatible land <br />uses near the airport by implementing the appropriate <br />building codes and zoning ordinances. <br />Implement land use planning strategies to reduce; prevent <br />and mitigate aircraft noise impacts. In preparing and <br />revising land use plans, each community should consider <br />the following strategies, where appropriate, to reduce or <br />prevent incompatible uses and to mitigate the impact of <br />excess noise exposure: <br />a) Insulate structures located in noise -sensitive areas. <br />b) Adopt building noise attentuation standards for new <br />construction, additions or substantial rehabilitation. <br />c) Disclose degree of noise exposure to prospective home <br />buyers. <br />d) Develop policies on the location, relocation and <br />closing of public structures in aircraft noise impact <br />areas. <br />e) Develop policies on the extension of utilities into <br />aircraft noise impact areas. <br />f) Zone or rezone property. <br />g) <br />Redevelop appropriate areas." <br />Anoka County <br />The County is charged with the responsibility of siting a <br />sanitary landfill for waste disposal. The County adopted the <br />selection criteria as outlined in "Report 1 - Selection Criteria <br />Anoka County Landfill Site Inventory". Page 8 addressed <br />prohibited areas; <br />"SW-6 The rules and regulations for siting and operating <br />a sanitary landfill in the state of Minnesota are <br />set forth in Minnesota State Regulations under <br />Chapter "SW-6 Sanitary Landfill."
