reporting piece does the HRA see their role, and is a couple times per month sufficient reporting.
Would that allow enough engagement.
Commissioner Ramsey stated he would not want each person coming in and asking each
question over again -maybe post a spreadsheet of where we are at.
Commissioner McGlone stated the public comes to the Council/HRA and asks questions and he
wants to know what is happening to be able to tell them.
Mr. Lazan stated that they put a collaborative package in their proposal to keep the Council up to
date. He added it's important they have relatively live information for everyone. Maybe updates
could be given at every HRA meeting -dashboard modifications, etc.
Commissioner Elvig stated he would like to be kept current on a weekly basis -and to talk about
what's open and closed to the public.
It was suggested maybe .sales and marketing every two weeks and deals and dashboard alternate
weekly.
Commissioner Ramsey stated he did not see a problem with one of the Council going to Mr.,.
Lazan and saying they have an idea or a contact.
Mr. Lazan pointed out that the problem with that is we have all these layers. He stated he sees
the Council at the ambassador level -for everything else it should go to the Development Team
-especially at the Las Vegas conference.
Mr. Cronk stated he is after the plan -not really the vision. There has to be a plan of what we
are shooting for and we need to be focused on that. We can work with staff to create the plan -
and it has to be a hard plan - he is looking for a story to sell. Mr. Cronk talked about access -
access number one - if that gets in, it changes the bar. He mentioned the vision again to which
Vice Chairperson Jeffrey stated that Mr. Lazan has a lot of the information Mr. Cronk is looking
for.
Mr. Greeby stated that he and Mr. Cronk are still coming up to speed -they are transitioning.
We have not yet completed the research to tell and craft our story. If we do not have answers to
questions they will ask, that makes the team ineffective -and this all requires time.
Mr. Lazan stated that where we would like to be as a team is we would like enough clarity from
the Council so we can go out on a limb and come back to you and not be shot down. He asked
what they would like that vehicle to be. He thought an HRA meeting every other week is a good
one. We are not asking the Council to revision but we want to stay in touch.
Commissioner Elvig agreed that we really do not have a plan. He thought a lot of information is
there for the team but they need enough to know where a business could be put in. We have two
hits with the medical buildings and we know there are a lot of ancillary businesses that go with
that. He felt that the question is what do we spend most of our time on.
Housing and Redevelopment Authority/Apri17, 2010
Page 7 of 16
