<br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPOINTMENT OF GALLAGHER BENEFIT <br />SERVICES, INC. AS AGENT/BROKER OF RECORD FOR HEALTH AND <br />DENTAL INSURANCE PROGRAMS AND COBRA ADMINISTRATION AND <br />TERMINATE AGENT OF RECORD RELATIONSHIP WITH CBIZ. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an Agent/Broker of Record is responsible for advising and assisting <br />the City in encouraging consumerism and designing health programs; advising and <br />assisting the City in controlling health care costs and evaluating plan design options; <br />advising the City on potential gaps or overlaps in coverage's, and negotiating with <br />carriers on the City's behalf, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff was authorized to issue an RFP for Agent/Broker of Record <br />services for health and dental insurance and COBRA administration, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The RFP was conducted and three brokers were interviewed, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends appointing Gallagher Benefit Service, Inc. as the <br />City's new AgentIBroker of Record and terminating the Agent/Broker of Record <br />relationship with CBIZ effective July 1,2010. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of staff to appoint Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. as the <br />City's new Agent/Broker of Record. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 8th day of June, 2010. <br />
