<br />the Service Plan. <br /> <br />4.02 Vehicle Operation, Maintenance, and Housing. The Contractor shall use the <br />vehicles exclusively for providing transit services under the agreement. The Contractor shall be <br />responsible for all operation, maintenance, and housing of vehicles used in providing transit <br />services under the agreement. <br /> <br />4.03 Vehicle Cleaning. The Contractor shall be responsible at its cost for maintaining <br />all vehicles in a neat and clean appearance. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining cleaning supplies in each vehicle including, <br />at a minimum, the following: <br /> <br />· paper towels; <br />· throw-away plastic gloves <br />· cleaning solutions such as Simple Green, Lysol, Ram or a similar cleaning solution that <br />can clean, disinfect and deodorize and which are non-toxic and non-staining; <br />· a waste receptacle (to be emptied daily); and <br />· a small broom (whisk broom is not acceptable) and dust pan. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall carry out cleaning of each vehicle at not less than the following intervals: <br /> <br />1. Daily: Interiors shall be swept, dusted, and spot-mopped and trash emptied. <br />2. Four Times Weekly: <br />· Interiors shall be fully mopped and windows, seats and driver's area cleaned. <br />· Exteriors shall be washed, with more frequent washing as required during periods of <br />inclement weather. <br />3. Weekly: Interiors shall be fully cleaned throughout including dashboard, ceilings, <br />walls, and all other interior areas and surfaces. <br />4. Semi-Annually: Passenger seats and driver's seat shall be steam cleaned. <br /> <br />The interior passenger compartment of each vehicle shall be maintained free of noxious odors <br />from cleaning products, vermin control products, and exhaust fumes emitted by the engine. <br /> <br />Any vehicle found not to be in compliance with the above cleaning provisions will be removed <br />from service without limiting the Contractor's service obligations under the agreement. <br /> <br />4.04 Driver Pre-Trip Inspection. The Contractor shall require that each driver, before <br />beginning any service operation with a vehicle (including when a road relief occurs), conducts a <br />pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure the safe operation and proper working condition of <br />the vehicle. The pre-trip inspection shall include, at a minimum, a walk-around visual inspection, <br />a full cycle check oflift and/or ramp and interlock function, and a check of the following items: <br /> <br />· directional signals and flashers; <br />· headlights; <br />· brake lights and taillights; <br /> <br />11 <br />
