Council meeting on August 9, 2010. <br />Council Action: <br />Based upon recommendation of the Personnel Committee and discussion by the Council. <br />Case 4 Consider A Resolution Accepting the Resignation of a Planning Commission/Board of <br />Adjustment Member and Options to Fill the Vacancy <br />Background: <br />The Committee discussed the case and that Mr. Ralph Hunt's resignation was submitted on June 25`h <br />indicating that he will be resigning from the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment as of <br />September 1, 2010. Mr. Hunt's current term would have expired on March 31, 2011. Discussion <br />followed regarding whether to leave the position vacant until the next annual recruitment, to recruit <br />from the current applicant pool or to begin a new recruitment. Councilmember McGlone reported <br />that he would be in favor of appointing an interim commissioner from the current applicant pool. <br />He stated that the interim commissioner would then apply again during the normal annual <br />recruitment for a normal term. Chair Dehen and Councilmember Jeffrey agreed to leave the position <br />vacant until the next annual recruitment.
