Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO BEGIN THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT / MARKETING MANAGER WHEREAS, the Deputy City Administrator/Community Development Director conducted an analysis of the City's economic development priorities and functions and determined that there is a need to hire a dedicated economic development position; and WHEREAS, an Economic Development/Marketing Manager will focus on developing and maintaining the City's Business Retention Program and developing and coordinating marketing and promotional activities designed to attract new development city wide; and WHEREAS, due to the resignation of the Human Resources Manager/Assistant Director of Administrative Services staff is unable to reassign Information and Technology and Facilities to the Human Resources Manager/Assistant Director of Administrative Services which would have enabled the Deputy City Administrator to focus the City's economic development and HRA priorities and thereby reducing her available time in these areas. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Make a motion recommending the City Council authorize staff to begin the recruitment process for an Economic Development/Marketing Manager. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 9th day of August 2010.
