7.05: Approve the following License Applications:. <br />Peddler/Solicitor/Transient Merchant <br />Austin Diversified Products, Inc., 16615 S. Halsted St. Harvey, IL 60426 <br />Woodland Training, 8170 Alamo Circle, Blaine, MN 55449 <br />Police Chief Way requested the Austin Diversified Products license application be pulled due to <br />complaints received. <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated the City Code allowed the non=issuance and denial of the license <br />after taking the Police Chiefls investigation into consideration. He recommended Council deny <br />this application. He noted the applicant had the right to appeal this decision. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, ,to deny the <br />peddler/solicitor/transient merchant license for Austin Diversified Products, Inc., 16615 S. <br />Halsted St., Harvey, IL 60426. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Elvig, Look, .and <br />McGlone. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Dehen and Wise. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to approve the <br />peddler/solicitor/transient merchant for Woodland Training, 8170 Alamo Circle, Blaine, MN <br />66449. <br />Motion cazried. Voting Yes: -Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Elvig, Look, and <br />McGlone. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Dehen and Wise. <br />7.06: Introduction of an Ordinance Amending Chapter 54 of City Code, related to an <br />Expanded Area for Restricted Roller Device usage in the Town Center District <br />Planning Manager Miller reviewed staffls report. <br />Councilmember Elvig expressed concern that the residents needed to know of these restrictions. <br />He recommended the City look at certain non-restricted uses, such as rollerbladers who were <br />rollerblading for exercising. He suggested this be looked at further. <br />Planning Manager Miller noted rollerblades were allowed on the trails, as well as bicycles; <br />however, the intent was to keep them out of the areas where they were not allowed. She noted <br />the Police Department could use their discretion also. She noted there were things the City could <br />do so skateboarders did not use the amphitheater area for skateboazding and this was the first <br />step. <br />Police Chief Way noted this was the introduction and he had not had a chance to work on this. <br />He noted he did not want this left up to the police discretion, but would rather have something <br />City Council /July 27, 2010 <br />Page 9 of 11 <br />
