Feasibility Report
Bunker Lake Boulevard Extension
City of Ramsey
C. Storm Water Management
A storm sewer system will be required in Bunker Lake Boulevard to manage the
stormwater runoff within the right-of-way and adjoining Outlot B area to the south. The
school campus storm sewer system will not be connected to the public right-of-way
system; therefore storm pipe will not need to be sized to accommodate runoff from the
school. In addition, development of Outlot B will require internal stormwater
management in accordance with City stormwater requirements and is not anticipated to
affect the pipe sizing in the right-of-way.
A stormwater retention pond is required to control the runoff from the right-of-way in
accordance with the City's stormwater management requirements. The development plan
for the school campus includes a stormwater pond at the outlet of the right-of-way storm
sewer, and has been verified to be of adequate size to meet the requirements. It is
assumed that this retention pond will be constructed with the mass grading of the school
site and has not been included in the cost estimates provided in the report.
Storm sewer pipe sizes to accommodate the right-of-way improvements between
Armstrong Boulevard and Puma Street range from 15 -inch pipe on the west to 30 -inch
pipe at the outlet to the pond. Oversizing of the pipe will be required to accommodate a
future extension of Bunker Lake Boulevard into an approximate 30 acre tract of land west
of Puma Street and within the watershed area of this system. Pipe sizes to accommodate
this oversizing requirement will range from 24 -inch pipe on the west end to 36 -inch pipe
at the outlet.
Catch basin spacing will generally be at approximate 300 feet spacing. Final catch basin
layout will be determined during final design. Storm sewer laterals will be stubbed across
the paved surface so they are available for future expansion of the street.
D. Signal Improvements at Armstrong Intersection
The improvement of the intersection of Bunker Lake Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard
has been under consideration for a number of years. This improvement will include
additional turn lane development and signalization, and is currently scheduled to be
constructed in 2011.
