-308- <br /> <br />Specification For Apparatus <br /> <br />INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />The city's intent is to purchase (1) Custom Chassis Fire Truck with a 100' (One <br />Hundred Foot) minimum aerial platform with a minimum 1500 gpm waterway and <br />a minimum 1500 gpm pump, a 300 gallon water tank, and an on board 120 VAC <br />generator system. The following design/performance factors are of utmoSt <br />importance to the Ramsey Fire Department: <br />· Use of corrosion resistant materials for the cab and body. <br />· Maximum tip load and distributed load rating for the aerial device. <br />· Rear mount turntable. <br /> Aerial apparatus in full compliance with current edition of NFPA Standards <br /> 1901 and 1914 and any other applicable NFPA Standards. <br />· Ability to "short jack" aerial apparatus in cOnfined areas. <br />· Single source integrated design and manufacturing of the chassis, torque <br /> box, aerial device, cab and body. <br />· Third party engineering design certification and testing of the completed <br /> apparatus, <br />· Continuity with existing apparatus and equipment. <br /> <br />The following specifications list on the design and performance features that are <br />required by the Ramsey Fire Department as a minimum in order to achieve the <br />above listed criteria. It is assumed that each manufacturer will included with their <br />proposed apparatus all features, components and equipment that is typical or <br />required for this type of apparatus. Details of construction and materials where <br />not otherwise specified here or in NFPA standards are left to the discretion of the <br />manufacturer who is solely responsible for design and construction of the <br />complete apparatus. Details of the overall construction, equipment, and features <br />of the apparatus proposed by each manufacturer are to be clearly delineated in <br />the manufacturer's proposal submitted with the bid. <br /> <br />Each proPosal Shall include a copy of the department's specification with a check <br />mark in the complies yes/no column for each article of the specification. Any <br />proposal not including a completed specification compliance form will be <br />considered non-responsive and the proposal may not be considered by this fire <br />department. <br /> <br />ITEM GENERAL DESIGN/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />.0 CHASSIS/DRIVE TRAIN YES NO <br />.1 The toque box frame shall be designed to adequately carry all <br /> loads imposed by the vehicle and the fully loaded aerial <br /> device.
