My experience as a professional [ransportafion planner provides me with a familiarity of the intricate details involved with balancing land use and transportation infrastructure investment decisions. My past communib]' involvement experience has included efforts on voluntan/ comprehensive planning committees for the cities of Altamonte Springs and Longwood, Florida, both rapidly growing suburban communities in the IVletropolitan Orlando area. For a period in the late 80's, I served on the Land Planning Agency (aka, Planning and Zoning Commission) for the City of Longwood. Prior to my return to the Midwest, I served as Chair/Vice-chair for the METROPLAN ORLANDO Bicycle / Pedestrian Advison/Committee. This BPAC is one of the advfsory committees of the Orlando urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization charged with the planning and prioritization of bicycle and pedestrian enhancement proiects under TEA-21 and, formerly ISTEA.
