Councilmember Hendriksen referred to Page 195 and read fi.om that regarding <br />pulling a building permit. He asked if by pulling a building permit, could they not start taking <br />trees down. City Attorney Goodrich stated his understanding that the intention was that prior to <br />getting a building permit, they had to show which trees would be removed and it had to be <br />agreed upon by the City. City Engineer Jankowski referred to page 193; section 16, where it was <br />more definitively stated. Councilmember Hendriksen aSked what would prevent the developer <br />fi.om cutting down all the trees. 'City Engineer Jankowski stated it would need to be approved by <br />the City. Mayor Gamec stated they would hire people that would be responsible for that. <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated this had not worked in the past. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, and Kurak. Voting <br />No: Councilmember Hendriks~, and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimme~fii~ state(a~i}that because this particular plat did not do very well with the <br />tree preservation ordifia~ce, would ~y be willing to put a moratorium into effect. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he :~Oulff:~6i be~i~l~Srtg to do th/s on existing developments. He stated it was an abuse of the Mayor's position to take it <br />upon himself to apologize for any member of the City Council.
