-186- <br /> <br />Selective removal of natural vegetation is allowed, provided that <br />sufficient vegetative cover remains to screen cars, dwellings and other <br />structures when viewed from the water. <br /> <br />2. Clear cutting of natural vegetation is prohibited. <br /> <br />Natural vegetation shall be restored insofar as feasible after any <br />construction project is completed to retard surface runoff and soil <br />erosion. <br /> <br />The provisions of this Section shall not apply to permitted uses which <br />normally require the removal of natural vegetation. <br /> <br />Development shall be conducted so that the maximum number of trees <br />are preserved by the locating of structures in existing cleared areas and <br />natural clearing and the utilization of other site 'design techniques. <br /> <br />Grading, contouring and paving shall be performed to minimize any <br />detrimental affect on root zone aeration and stability of existing trees. <br />Existing trees shall be provided with a watering area equal to at least <br />one-half the crown cover. <br /> <br />When trees are removed, the permittee will restore the density of trees, <br />utilizing nursery stocks of a minimum of 1-3/4" diameter measured <br />one foot above the ground, using species generally accepted as suitable <br />for the purpose to that which existed before the development provided <br />that in no case need the density exceed 10 trees per acre. <br /> <br />Development shall not reduce the existing crown cover greater than <br />50% and shall be conducted in such a manner as to preserve the under <br />story and litter. <br /> <br />Trees used in reforestation or' landscaping must be compatible with the <br />local landscape and climatic conditions. <br /> <br />No on-site sewage disposal systems shall be allowed which do not meet the <br />requirements of Section 9.13 of the City Code. This Section adopts the soils <br />classification in the Soil Survey of Anoka County as prepared by the Soil <br />Conservation Service. <br /> <br />No development shall be permittee don land having a slope in excess of <br />45%, All very steep slopes (18 percent and over) shall be protected.
