-332- <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that 10 to 1.5 feet behind the curb is what is required for snow <br />storage. He added that this is one of the major concerns in having private streets maintained by <br />the' City. If the main streets through a townhouse development are public, he asked if the <br />setbacks on the private streets could be reduced. This would encourage the developers to provide <br />that public street spine and get the density they need. <br /> <br />Case//10 Amended and Restated Development Program for Development District <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Weld stated that interest in developing land in western <br />Ramsey has been growing over the past few years. It is important to make more development <br />tools available to the city for development in this area. Several businesses have expressed <br />interest in redeveloping and building new facilities along Highway 10 in the next few years. The <br />development that would take place wouid be eligible for T~x Increment Financing assistance by <br />the City. State law requires that .the Development District boundaries .be amended if Tax <br />Increment Financing is to be used to facilitate development. The expansion of Development <br />District No. 1 is necessary to facilitate growth and redevelopment along the Highway 10 corridor. <br />Tax 'Increment Financing is an important tool to help facilitate growth and redevelopment. In <br />order to make this financing tool available for redevelopment State Law requires that the <br />boundary of Development District No. 1 be amended to include parcels that could receive <br />assistance. City Staff is recommending approval of the Amended and Restated Development <br />Program for Development District No. 1. and to adopt the attached resolution. <br /> <br />Commissioner Watson pointed out the incorrect date is listed in the first paragraph of the <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Watson, to adopt the resolution <br />modifying Development District No. 1 with the corrected date in the first paragraph. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Watson, Kociscak, <br />Reeve, and Sweet. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Wa[son, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the Amended and Restated Development Program for Development <br />District No. 1.. <br /> <br />Motion Carried.
