The ~ir~licant has s~bmitted a new rezoning and comprehensive plan amendment <br />request along with a slc~tch plar~,.r{~Iect~g, a medium density residential development. The City <br />Council adopted the M~ch:2004~!¢o~h~nsive Plan Amendment on December 18, 2001. The <br />2001 Comprehensive Plan~gsig-aa~}~he s~)e~ct property being used for Places to Shop. Edina <br />Development is asking for a~r_"'}~e~ment ~¢ the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to allow for a <br />medium densxty res~dentml project on~.~eprOPerty that would allow up to 7 umts per acre. At <br />their January 3, 2002 meeting, the Pl~ng Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the <br />request to change the land use tO!:!i~~~i~'~ residential. The Planning Comm/ssion <br />recommended that the City Council ap~¢~ ~e req~st. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if the developffT~as pm~ih'~!o include a City street as part of <br />the development. <br /> <br />Lee Ebe, Edina Development, replied that one City street w6uld be i~dl~uded. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik noted that the Council's o~3. considering the land <br />use, not the plat. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what the steps would be for approving the <br />Amendment. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodr/ch replied that the Council would need to approve the Amendment then <br />forward it to the Met Council for approval.
