I <br /> <br />i <br />I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> <br /> i <br /> I <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired if there will be an association. <br /> <br />Mr. Slettner replied yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if the developer had talked to the neighbors. <br /> <br />Mr. Slettner replied yes, and noted that they have been present at meetings supporting the <br />development. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired if the extension of Cobalt Street to 153rd Avenue would be constructed <br />right away. <br /> <br />Mr. Slettner replied yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that she is pleased to see the lower density and that the <br />developer has been willing to work with the City to correct the drainage problem in the area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that in the Planning Commission mi.nutes there were four or <br />five residents who gave some opposition to the development. <br /> <br />Mr. Slettner replied that one of the things they were concerned about was the minimum side yard <br />setback which is 12 to 20 feet and when they were informed that the side yard setbacks would be <br />22.5 feet they were comfortable with that. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the residents who spoke at the Planning Commission <br />would be opposed to the development today. <br /> <br />Mr. Slettner replied that in his opinion all of the residents that spoke would be in favor of the <br />development. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that in the future when a new development is being proposed <br />and traffic generation analysis is completed there needs to be a comparison of traffic prior to the <br />development and after the development. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that they will do that in the future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that Mr. Bulow was required to comply with the Charter <br />Amendment for his development of Mallard Ponds and asked why this development should be <br />treated differen[ly. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson replied that the developer in this situation has reduced the density <br />from what is allowable. <br /> <br />City Council/January 9, 2001 <br /> Page 24 of 35 <br /> <br />-169- <br /> <br /> <br />
