-284- Attention Ramsey Plannhng Commission: ' RE: Rezonmg of the property located south of County ROad #5 and west of Highway #47. To Whom It May Concern: While speaking to my neighbors irt the Windemere Woods addition, Dysprosium Street and surrounding areas, I have found that several of us feel very strongly about keeping the walking and biking path that runs along the edge of Grass Lake, also known as "The Pond,," a park for ali to enjoy! We would tike to see a tree buffer separate the park from the proposed development allowing everyone to enjoy the serenity and beauty- of The .Pond's wildlife, including frequent vis/ts from loons, our state bird. Please consider zoning the waterfront bike path and adjacent woods, a public Park and wildlife area. Once our w/ldlife areas are gone they can never be restored, but there will always be land for housing developments. We are asking for only a small portion of the entire land area requested for rezoning by Royal Oaks Realty, Inc., this includes the walking/biking path, Ramsey Terrace park, and a tree buffer between the proposed development and waterfront path. Please address this concern at the meeting on Tuesday, June 05, 2001. To: show the widespread support for preserving our p'ark and wildlife 'area that runs along the edge of the pond'in the proposed development, I woUld like to fill a written petition, showing the hundreds of residence on and near The Pond and Terrace park that enjoy its refuge from the city, and who want to preserve its existence.
