Rezoning, The Ponds Subdivision, & Variance to We are writing this letter because we won't be able to attend the June 5th meeting on the above Royal Oaks Realty Proposal. We are totally against this development. We moved from Brooklyn Center 13 years ago to 14220 Dysprosium Street, Ramsey, to get away from people, traffic & crime. Now there is a proposal for a "baby metropolis" right out our back door. For one this would mean more people, secondly, more people - more traffic, and thirdly, with more people there is more opportunity for crime. Ramsey doesn't have enough police for the current population. We chose this house in 1988 because it was on a dead-end street -the City made it a throUgh street. We chose this house because it was near an elementary school. It was rezoned and now our son goes to school in downtown Anoka. What are you going to do about the increased population in relation to the school system? Upon discussing this proposal with my neighbor, I found out that an attempted abduction was made in our area but no one notified us as residents or'the school system my son goes to. We chose this house because it was backed up to a park reserve so people wouldn't surround us and it would be quiet - the City put in a play ground behind us, a path and a ball diamond. By the way recently the City made a misquote/mud hole "pond". Do you spray for misquotes or even look at this hole'? I'll never understand why they put it next to a children's playground so the kids can fall in it and throw things in it. . We have a dog and an outdoor kennel. We never let our dog run loose. Other people & kids cut across the back of our yard to get to the "pond", play ground and park resev/e. Due to this our dog barks. Secondly other people allow their dogs/cats to run loose and come into our yard to do their duty, which causes our dog to bark. We've had to keep our dog inside so we won't get another letter from the City for barking - now the City wants to increase the population next to the park reserve and allow more people to traipse through the back of the houses! We chose this place for nature's beauty and trees. We like to walk on the un-official path by the water tower and enjoy the outdoors and the City wants to make it pavement! The City wants to allow Royal Oaks Realty to raise the height of construction so we can sit on our patio and look at an apm-tment building instead of trees! Our water & sewer bill has raised in cost, not usage, so much that we almost have to take out a loan to pay for it. If you don't pay it, the City puts a tax lien on your property. How do you propose to handle the added burden to the Ramsey water and sewer supply with this new population'? .~285-
