The public hearing closed at 7:30 p.m.
Commission Business
Commissioner Van Scoy likes the design, however it is a significant amount of overage, there are
three large garage doors and no dedicated way to get there.
Commissioner Rogers asked if the fire trucks would be able to have access if there was a fire.
Associate Planner Gladhill stated that the fire department reviewed this application and did not
state a concern for access and continued that situation isn't unique to this structure. He also
stated that the Commission would be within their legal right to require a driveway as a condition
for the permit.
Commissioner Brauer stated he thinks 60% increase is way too much of an overage.
Discussion ensued regarding the overage amount, how it relates to setting precedence, and the
ordinance.
Leon Richter, Jr., 8150 144 Avenue, stated that there is a neighbor within a block that put up a
80x60 structure within the last 3 years and has a 3 car garage double deep. They have the same
size lot.
Mr. Richter stated there are at least two in his development that are way over on square footage
and have been approved.
