Metropolitan Council <br /> <br /> Predeveiopment Grant Information <br /> Funding Available: $300,000 <br />Funding Source: Family Housing Fund and Minneapolis Foundation <br /> Application Deadline: September 15, 2003 by 4:30 p.m. <br /> Date of Awards: November 12, 2003 <br /> <br />Purpose: The purpose of this one-time predeveiopment grant fund is to assist reinvestment <br />activities that support housing production in cases where plans are completed but necessary <br />support to implement the plans is not available. This initiative builds on the regional <br />reinvestment strategy that encourages redevelopment, infill, and adaptive reuse. <br /> <br />Eligible Applicants: Application for predevelopment grants that support housing production is open to <br />all cities, counties, and towriships in the seven-county metropolitan area. Preference will be given to <br />LCA participants, but is not required for consideration. <br /> <br />Eligible Uses of Funds: <br />Funded elements must directly contribute to implementation of an eligible reinvestment project, <br />including the following: <br />· Soft costs and professional services such as legal, title,--financial analysis, architectural and <br /> engineering design, project management, modeling and mapping, tax credit fees, marketing and <br /> advertising, survey fees, inspections, appraisals, and environmental testing <br />· Costs associated with securing other funding sources and preparing other grant propoSals, except <br /> grant proposals for Metropolitan Council programs <br /> <br />Ineligible Uses of Funds: <br />· Activities prior to award of grant <br />· Construction costs <br />· · Master and Comprehensive Planning activities and related design workshops or other public <br /> involvement techniques. (These should be complete or nearly complete.) <br />· Local permits, licenses or other fees such as park dedication <br />· Operating expenses, salary costs and developers fees <br /> <br />Amount of Awards: Awards are expected to average $30,000 - $50,000. <br /> <br />Application Process' Submit the application and required attachments using ONE of the following <br />methods. This application is available online (see www. metrocouncil.or.q/..qrants/predev/info.htm).
