Councilmember Hendriksen stated that a lot of the comments have been about the drainage of' the Business Park and questioned if it was correct that there is $100,000 allocated to this project reducing the total cost. City Engineer Jankowski replied yes. City Attorney Goodrich inquired if the project was separated into two projects could they determine the tax levy. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that when he first envisioned the project everything up to the used car lot needed the drainage, but when they look at the numbers it made more sense to do the entire project at once. Councilmember Connolly inquired if the project was done as two projects would the 54 inch pipe still be installed. City Engineer Jankowski replied yes. Mr. Holosek stated that $102,000 will be contributed to the project to reduce the cost, but if the pipe was run on the north side of the tracks there would not be the need for the larger pipe which would also reduce the cost. He stated that the cost of the project is excessive for property owners that have a large amount of land with no development on it. Ernst Ivlillcr statcd tl:at he owns the dsed cat' lot and does not have any drainage problems on his site. He felt that the City has some responsibility for the way the initial drainage system was set- up in the Business Park. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that before water can discharge to the Mississippi it has to go through a holding area and there is not a holding area on the south side of the tracks and so the south side property owners would be benefiting from the holding pond. Mr. Miller replied not if they don't need it. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that all run-off'has to go somewhere. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to close the public hearing, Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None.
