The maximum fine for a petty misdemeanor is $200.00, with no jail time. The <br />more serious violations would remain misdemeanors punishable by the $700.00 fine and/or 90 <br />days in jail. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what would be considered a petty misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson explained that operating during the wrong hours, or speeding would be <br />considered a petty misdemeanor and a misdemeanor would be damage to agricultural land, and <br />trespassing etc. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that during the Park and Recreation Commission meeting <br />Commissioner Droegemueller referred to situations where there is no room for sleds along the <br />sides of roads where trails already exist and questioned if people would be ticketed in these <br />situations. <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson replied that snowmobiles would be allowed to ride the outside ridge of <br />the ditch without being ticketed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to adopt <br />Ordinance #99-16 amending Section 6.04 of the Ramsey City Code entitled "Snowmobiles" by <br />Causing the Penalty for Violation of Said Section to be a Petty Misdemeanor. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed by the recording secretary. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly aye <br />Councilmember Zimmerman aye <br />Councilmember Hendriksen aye <br />Councilmember Anderson aye <br />Mayor Gamec aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Consider Pursuing Construction Manager for Water-Related Engineering <br />Services <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that in late September, the City received proposals on <br />engineering services related to the City's water utility. , Specifically, the scope of the work <br />encompasses a) construction of fifth municipal well, b) construction of a well house and related <br />mechanical equipment to contain and operate the well, c) construction of a new 1.5 million <br />gallon water tower, and d) repainting of the existing 0.5 million gallon elevated tank. In <br />reviewing the five proposals that were received, the proposers listed specialty-engineering firms <br />to assist them in completing the scope of work.
